Well we've come full circle now and things are good and bad at the same time. The good, Mike is coming to the wedding and will be there for the festivities and what not for the most part. He flies in on the 14th and leaves on the 16th. There comes to the bad part, I ride alone. I wasn't really expecting Mike to be able to drive and help me get there but it would have been nice for the long journey. Ah well, this isn't a cry out for someone to ride with me all the way to California but if anyone's interested in the Scion awaits. So that's it, we are all on the move now for the big day! So I'll see you all there on the 8th or 9th or 10th or sometime during that week. OUT.

We are at a crisis. Mike is unable to make it to the wedding without proper funds. These funds at present come up to 525 dollars. The plan at this point is to try and come up with the money ASAP so he can make it. It is quite a bit of money, I know. But I think he should be there for this, this might be one of the few times the entire group comes together. Before we begin to build a pool or come up with a new plan I'd like to hear your suggestions and comments to the situation. |

Last night I had a dream that isn't quite sitting right with me, because it didn't end like they should and I didn't act like I usually do. Basically it started as your standard fantasy world being attacked by a giant evil force and being part of the mortal and good side we were all that stood against it. Now the we part is a little weird because it felt like I knew the men I was fighting beside but I really don't. Regardless the dream is starting to fade some but it was one of those to real to be safe dreams, like I could feel and touch everything. So anyways, we're in a castle maybe around 400 soldiers against this horrible tide of demons, constructs, and god knows what else. The battle rages, standard for a geeks dream I got full plate armor and a big ass sword and I'm cleaving away at these guys like it's nothing. But then it gets weird.
I get tired. I get weary. I get afraid. We fight and fight and fight until we eventually get pushed to this landing with one way up by foot but others seem to try and pull themselves up to get at us. I fight the ones coming up the hard way as I hack off heads and arms and they just laugh and smile. It was frightening and then one of my own men gets to close as their blade comes to nearly sheer off my left jaw, and I can feel it in the real world but I keep sleeping. Usually I'd wake up but I'm still there before the lines begins to break. We find there is an escape plan already set up with a magic plate that teleports us outside the castle to another marker. So we run over and touch the plate and eventually we find ourselves behind the lines of the enemy at a cave where we all run in and hide.
Eventually we follow this cave as a tunnel into a few rooms with more modern items go-carts, motorcycles, cars, trucks, and all kinds of things like this was a theme park and eventually I find myself alone in the back. As I'm sitting there I begin to hear an angry woman's voice and I look to the window to see a giant woman's head looking straight at me. She yells about how she sees me and knows where we are and that there is no escape. I stare in fear and awe before I turn and run to the others to tell them what's happened when I look out the other window. There I see a small towns militia drawing up lines outside their town waiting for the slaughter which is on the horizon. I stare and begin to hear Scotland the brave and run to the others who are eating. The last thing I remember is telling the commander who just sighs and comments on how he never gets to finish a meal as he calls for arms. And I wake up.
Now this could all be just fan-boy and geek thought process and more than likely is but what I saw and felt has scared the bejesus out of me. I woke up shivering and staring at my ceiling like I was lost and hoped that I wasn't there. I am scared out of my mind by what I saw and dreamt about. But with most dreams it's starting to fade and all that will be left soon is the ache in my heart where that fear is still waiting. I don't know, it just seemed appropriate to write about it like I used to when I first started this. Anyways, OUT. |

Well then I guess it's been a very long time since I put anything really meaningful into this little journal I started oh so long ago. I mean I really only started it cause everyone else had and I was acting as the sheep with the flock. But after awhile I guess it grows on you, cause I've been missing seeing everyone post something, may it be a test or a thought or anything. I guess the card game really puts it back to the way it was, but that's not why I'm here! No! I'm here to talk about what's going on in my life, because it just got 10 times more complicated.
To start, I'm getting married! Yeah that's right the ol captain is taking the big plunge into adulthood and responsibility. And to who might be I be getting married to? Well of course to B, the one person I think understands me and puts me in my place more so than any one else ever has. I love that woman and I'm not sure if I could have done this with anyone else. So, getting married in September of next year, and then it's on to the next step...whatever that is.
Next, I am now the proud co-owner of 95 Chelsea Dr. Now what is 95 Chelsea Dr? Why that's my brand spanking new house that we just bought yesterday! Granted we aren't there right now, due to life and work and the fact we got it all said and done around 4:30 last night, but it's ours. We can do anything we want! Paint it, break it, build it, or whatever! Kind of excitig if you ask me, never really owned something with any real value besides a car. Why is it so cool to own a house out here? Because I'm paying less a month for it, then we were paying in Phoenix for the apartment. Insane? You bet your ass it is! So yeah, we got a house. 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1 kitchen, 1 front room, 1 GREAT rooom (converted gargae), wood floors, and a lawn with woods in the back. Insane. I bought a house. I BOUGHT A HOUSE! HAHAHAHAHHHAHAAHAH...ahaha...ha ha...heh...crazy talk.
Now to work. Work is going really good, it may not be the best job or what I always wanted to do but it pays the bills and I'm not bored or too stressed out anymore. I had a couple of moments where I was just wired and didn't know what to do, but since then I've learned to just let it all slide. Also, my father is now the quasi-owner of the Dorchester Stables here in Fairfield Glade (which is the resort everyone lives in at the moment). So they have a stable that my cousin, her fiance, and my sister (SAM!) are working at and doing a pretty damn good job of running. They own around 22 horses and have about 5 or 6 acres to play with and makes trails and all that other good stuff. Now on to the other news...
So I found out about an SCA group that runs out of Cookeville (which is about 30 miles away from where I live). The woman I talked to said she used to roll with them but turns out there a bunch of cliqueish snob elitests. No good. I no like that kind of attitude. So we got to talking and the idea came up of maybe starting our own shire here in Cookeville. I've not yet done a lot of research on what it takes to start one, but the plan might be that Crossville might have it's own SCA group with me and some others holding the reins. Awesome? You bet yer ass! I guess there's a guy here in Fairfield who used to be huge into it and even wrote a book about how the SCA works and what to do and all that jazz. So gonna maybe find him and try and get this thing going out here. Anyone interested in coming out and helping? I don't know a lot, but very willing and able to learn. The woman I talked (named Samantha) with was actually the AS officer of the Cookeville squad before she got tired of their attitudes and left. She also talked about maybe getting an event going out at the stables..a war maybe? Something to think about eh?
So I guess that pretty much sums up what's happened so far and what's to come. Anyone gonna come out and see the new place? Or just come and see what's shaking? OR EVEN TO GET DRUNK AND PARTY WITH US?! EH EH!? Just kidding, would be nice to see some of you but I know how life is and how it's hard to get away from it. Anyways, drop me a line sometime always up for a little conversation or to find out how everyone is doin. And on that note...OUT! |
